Entertainment! Entertainment! Entertainment!

Entertainment! Entertainment! Entertainment!

A life without entertainment is like a cake without sugar, a film without sound and a car without wheels. The definition of entertainment is different for everyone. Some people go clubbing and some stay at home watching T.V. Some dances and some likes to watch someone dance. It’s all a part of being entertained and eventually it has now become a major part of our lives and the reason for our smiles. But is it a necessity?

The answer to that is no. But do we want to live a life without a sense of joy? Imagine not being able to go to movies, parties, picnics and for some people not having personal space for doing what they like. Just having a normal cell phone for just making calls and not you’re IPhone, no Netflix, no Instagram, and no television! Frustrating, right?

That’s how most of the people think of it, as a source of happy and trouble-free life. Coming home form a hectic day and getting good food with your favourite series on the go is something most of the people desire. It helps releasing the sense of stress and makes you feel lighter mentally. Studies have also proven that a happy individual is likely to live longer than the one’s with a pressured and fraught life.

Entertainment

However, there has been a lot of debate on the actual meaning of entertainment. For most of the common people it’s just the sense of joy, the release of dopamine in their mind or just self-satisfaction. But there are also people with a different understanding of what entertainment has for us.

The Buddhists. To them, going to a pub, dancing and connecting with others is not actually what one desires to be entertained. It’s the outer urge to be pleased by the exterior environment. The point of Buddhism is not the denial of pleasure. Go to shopping, movies, clubs. There’s nothing wrong in doing so. It’s just the emotional attachment to set forms of entertainment.

Living in a world of diversity, there’s a sense of amusement and interest in every single corner. With that alongside, it plays with the minds of people and hence everyone’s source of joy differs from each other. It depends on what your mind and energy, what draws you the most and serves you with a sense of relaxation.

Whatsoever it means for you, as far as it’s not harmful to you or to others, live each moment with your own way of entertainment.
